There will be two instruments available for science observations on Roman:
- Wide Field Instrument (WFI), a 0.281 deg2 camera over wavelengths 0.48 to 2.3 microns, with 8 imaging filters and both a slitless grism and prism. The SSC's role is the processing of all spectroscopic data and delivery of data products to the Roman archive.
- Coronagraph Instrument (CGI), an advanced technology demonstrator for future missions that will directly image Earth-like exoplanets. The SSC is responsible for CGI operations, data management and processing, and delivery of data products to the Roman archive.
