The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Cycle 1 Call for Proposals is expected to open in Fall 2025, with the proposal deadline approximately four months after the Call is issued. The Call will solicit general investigator proposals across a broad range of science areas in the categories of:

• Archival research
• Theoretical research
• Observational research

Archival research programs provide funding support to analyze data from the Core Community Surveys, while theoretical research programs support theoretical investigations or ground-based data analysis with direct relevance to Roman science. Observational research proposals seek observing time with the Wide-Field Instrument in imaging or spectroscopic mode, and will be solicited over three general observers' calls during the five-year prime mission.

After the Call is open, proposal preparation workshops will be hosted to introduce the community to various Roman proposal tools and other specific elements in Cycle 1.
